This excavator is designed to remove soft dentin and pathological tissue from carious cavities. Unlike spoon excavators with curved faces, it features a flat blade. The dual-ended design includes specific blade shapes - one end suited for mesial surfaces (8) and the other for distal surfaces (7) - providing improved access to deep, narrow areas.
